Many volunteer opportunities are available at Celtic Cross. The following projects fall under the direction of the Mission/Stewardship Council. All members who are interested can find a way to serve in the church and community.

Head Start Backpack Project
This project began in 1989 when a member of Celtic Cross developed a plan to provide backpacks to children participating in the Head Start Program. The first year 20 children in two Head Start classes received a backpack filled with a sweatsuit, underwear, socks, toothbrush, toothpaste, a storybook and crayons. Members of the congregation participated in this project by purchasing the necessary items. In subsequent years the program grew. In 2001 44 classrooms totaling over 820 children each received a backpack filled with goodies. 22 churches participated in what has become a favorite ecumenical project.
